A study of nearly 20,000 people around the world observed that the Covid-19 vaccine can increase the cycle length and change the timing of the menstrual cycle. The research was published in the BMJ Medicine journal.

For the study, the team looked at over 250,000 cycles between October 1, 2020 and November 7, 2021. Participants had received vaccines including AstraZeneca, Covishield, Johnson & Johnson, Covaxin, Sputnik, Pfizer and Moderna.

The findings suggested that the average increase in cycle length was four days and 13 percent experienced a delay of eight days or more. Researchers also observed that people who received two vaccinations within one menstrual cycle experienced greater disruptions.
