Periods are a challenging time for most women. Be it the constant cramps, the mood swings or the incessant blood flow, periods can be very painful and tasking. While many resort to medications to get rid of pain or increase/decrease blood flow, there are a few natural remedies that can help.
Amongst the many natural ingredients good for period pain, seeds like flax seeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, and poppy seeds can do miracles during your menstruation.
Here is a simple seed cracker recipe that can be made in minutes at home. This recipe is also great for those who do not like the conventional taste of seeds.
To make these yummy treats you need, 1/2cup flax seeds, 1/2cup pumpkin seeds, 1/2 cup sunflower seeds, 1 cup sesame seeds, 1/4poppy seeds, 1 tsp sea salt, 2 pinch oregano, 1 pinch chilli flakes, 1/2 tsp cumin powder, 2 cups warm water.
How to make?
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Mix all the seeds with water in a large bowl and let it sit for about 30 minutes. Transfer the mixture onto the lined baking sheet. Next, cut small pieces of the cracker with a knife or pizza cutter. Place the tray into the oven and bake for 50 minutes. Keep checking on them as they can burn quickly!
Pumpkin seeds contain omega-3 fatty acids, known for their anti-inflammatory properties that will help ease menstrual discomfort. Flax is hugh in iron, which is essential for preventing fatigue and maintaining energy levels, especially during menstruation. Poppy has high magnesium levles. Magnesium is known for its role in muscle relaxation.
