According to the American Society for Nutrition, you may be able to add decades to your lifespan by following some basic healthy habits.
Researchers from the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Harvard T.H Chan School of Public Health analysed data from more than 700,000 US veterans aged 40-90 to compare their lifestyle habits.
They identified 8 lifestyle changes that could extend your life span
1- Get enough exercise
2- Follow a healthy diet
3- Manage stress
4- Avoid smoking
5- Have positive social relationships
6- Get Enough sleep
7- Stop Binge drinking
8- Being free from opioid addiction
The research concluded, that men who began following these 8 habits by the age of 40 live an average of 24 years longer than men who didn't follow any of those habits. For women, the lifespan increases by 21 years after adapting these habits.
