TikTok is one of those social media platforms which brings along various trends every now and then. And this time it's got us the 'girl math' trend.

The term was first coined by New Zealand Radio Show hosts Fletch, Vaughan & Hayley, which justifies new purchases in every way.

It's a new personal finance trend which recommends humorous new ways to rethink people's spending habits.

TikTok users are explaining the girl math with logics like:

  • You’re losing money if you don’t purchase something when it’s on sale.
  • You’re losing money if you don’t spend enough to qualify for free shipping.
  • You’re making money whenever you skip your daily coffee or soda run.
  • Anything in your Paytm or Apple wallet that isn’t immediately spent is free money.
  • Using cash basically feels free because the money in your account isn't spending
