Huma Qureshi's latest film Tarla is streaming now on Zee 5 in which Huma has played the role of Tarla Dalal. But do you know who she was and how she became a household name for every cooking enthusiast?
Tarla Dalal was a renowned chef born and brought up in Pune, Maharashtra. When she was 12, she used to help her mother in the kitchen and that's how she developed her passion towards cooking.
The veteran chef has also done many shows like "Cook it up with Tarla Dalal" and "Tarla Dalal Show". Apart from this, she has also written many recipe books and her recipes have also been published in more than 25 magazines. She was also awarded the Padma Shri award in 2007.
Tarla was a vegetarian chef and did not want vegetarians to feel that they are missing on something. That's why she used to make vegetarian dishes almost like non-vegetation.
For example, she cooked Batata Musallam instead of Murgh Musallam in which everything was like Murgh Musallam; only potatoes were used instead of chicken.
