Watermelon is one of the most edible fruits in summer as it's low in calories and rich in water content. But sometimes we end up purchasing raw and tasteless watermelon. Follow these tips to never get disappointed again.
- Always choose a watermelon which is symmetrical and has no bump, dent or cut in it.
- A sweet and ripe watermelon feels heavier than its size as it contains 91% water.
- A yellow mark at the bottom of a watermelon means it has ripened naturally and hence, will be sweeter.
- Try tapping the watermelon. A riped one will make a deep sound while an over riped one will make a hollow or flat sound.
- The skin of a ripe watermelon should be thick, and should not come off easily when pressed.
