Summer is almost here and so is the season to sip on juices and smoothies. People love experimenting by adding different types of fruits, vegetables and ingredients to their smoothies.
However, Ayurvedic expert Nikita Kohli says that smoothies are not as healthy as we think. According to her as smoothies are cold, they are indigestible and damage the digestive fire in our body. They are mostly made up of raw food which are hard to digest and create fodder for parasites.
She also suggests that smoothies usually contain improper food combinations such as milk with yoghurt or fruit with vegetables which contribute to dysfunction in the body.
Hence, experts suggest consuming food items in their whole form rather than making smoothies.
