Experts caution against offering specific parts of pumpkin or pumpkin-flavoured treats to your dog due to potential adverse health consequences, which could result in significant expenses.

The Animal Humane Society advises refraining from offering your pet the stem, leaves, skin, or raw seeds when it comes to fresh pumpkins.

Experts in animal care recommend that pet guardians prepare pumpkin puree for their furry friends by either roasting or steaming the pumpkin and then grinding the seeds to use as a topping for their pet's meals.

Pumpkin's soluble fiber increases stool volume by absorbing water and promotes beneficial fatty acid production, supporting cell energy, and intestinal function, and reducing large intestine pH. According to the AKC, pumpkin can also alleviate dog diarrhea.
