A lot of people start their day with a cup of tea and pair it with rusk or toast. And, if you're also doing the same then stop it right now.

Recently, dietician Richa Gangani shared that rusk is a baked blend of refined flour, sugar, cheap oils, extra gluten and many more food additives which are potentially harmful to your health.
Apart from increasing calories, consuming rusk can also increase the risk of several diseases.

In her post Dietician recommends replacing harmful rusk with makhanas or roasted dry channa or nuts to give priority to your health.

Richa Gangan shared the post on Instagram with the caption-

"Rusks have become an integral part of our lives. We couple it with tea in the morning considering it’s healthy but Rusk are loaded with trans fats(Palm oil), additives, lots of sugar and Maida. It is the worst snack 🥲

rusk biscuits are yeast, sugar, worst quality oil and flour, but in most store-bought stale bread loafs are tweaked to make rusk biscuits.

rusk is actually nothing but a baked blend of refined flour, sugar, cheap oils, extra gluten and a couple of food additives that are potentially harmful

let’s switch to makhanas or roasted ary chanas or nuts in the morning to give priority to our health and also not worry about gaining extra kilos

BOTTOMLINE- Rusks have been circulating as healthy however they are not. Hence, Stop falling for every claim a company makes. Start questioning the authenticity of their information and make the right choices for yourself and your family"🙏

Eating rusk, particularly in excess, may lead to several potential side effects:

  • High sugar and refined flour content can contribute to weight gain and increase the risk of diabetes and other metabolic disorders.
  • Rusk often contains unhealthy fats, such as trans fats, which can elevate cholesterol levels and increase the risk of heart disease.
  • Consumption of processed foods like rusk may lead to digestive issues, including bloating, gas, and constipation, due to its low fiber content and high glycemic index.
