Actor Ananya Panday recently delved into the world of baking. She recently shared a picture on Instagram of her baked cookies and wrote- 'My first attempt at baking I'm quite proud'. Chef Rafia Mazhar shares an easy recipe for cookies. Here's how to make it.

Ingredients

100 g salted butter melted
140 g brown sugar
100 g caster sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
170 g plain flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
200 g chocolate chips milk or dark

Recipe of cookies

  • In a bowl, combine melted butter and sugar, stirring until a smooth paste forms.
  • Add an egg and vanilla extract to the mixture, and continue mixing until smooth.
  • Sift in the flour and baking soda, then gently fold them into the mixture until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips to evenly distribute them throughout the dough.
  • Optionally, refrigerate the cookie dough for 30 minutes to help it firm up.
  • Preheat the oven and line a cookie tray with parchment paper.
  • Scoop about 1 tablespoon of the dough and place it on the prepared cookie tray, spacing them about 3 to 4 inches apart to allow for spreading.
  • Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are crisp and golden brown.
  • When the cookies come out of the oven, they will look puffy. To flatten them slightly, gently bang the cookie tray on the counter twice.
  • Allow the cookies to cool completely on the tray before removing them. This helps them set and develop the perfect texture.
