After minimalism and normcore, another fashion trend crying out loud on headlines is 'quiet luxury'. In simple words, it means following a low-key approach when it comes to buying or styling luxury items.

The idea of wearing a luxury label with their logos speaking out for them is being negated by quiet luxury. It celebrates clean, high-quality and timeless items that also reflect personal style.

It could be a cashmere coat, a Hermès Kelly bag or a piece of heirloom jewellery that has been in a family for generations. High-end luxury labels including Miu Miu, Bottega Veneta and Hermès among others are known for their quiet luxury approach and now other brands like Vince and Banana Republic are also trying their hands on it.

While it may seem new, experts believe the trend has always been there. For example, in India, people are crazy about pashmina shawls, Benarasi sarees or outfits with chikankari embroidery even without a luxury logo on them. An item weaved and handcrafted by local artisans has always been cherished and celebrated in our diverse nation.

How to pull off quiet luxury?

While you may like high-end fancy items with logos, quiet luxury is about understanding your style. Shop carefully and avoid too many prints and elements on a clothing item. Go for iconic vintage items and focus on the details and quality of the fabric rather than just the price tag.
