Urvashi Rautela never fails to surprise us with her gorgeous avatars. Recently the actor walked the ramp for fashion designer Robert Naorem at the Global India Couture Week. Taking to Instagram, Urvashi shared pictures and videos and revealed that she is the first Indian woman to wear a 24K real gold Potloi queen dress as a showstopper in history.
Urvashi Rautela looked stunning as she took over the ramp in a traditional Manipuri bridal dress known as potloi.
Potloi is deeply intertwined with the heritage and cultural fabric of Manipur. In Manipur, the Meitei community bride wears this dress on her wedding day. The Potloi costume is made from bamboo and cloth to take a cylindrical shape. The dress is prepared only a few hours before the bride wears it.
Urvashi shared the post and wrote, "@urvashirautela First Indian Actress To Wear 24K Real Gold #Manipuri Kumin #Potloi Queen Meitei Dress As A Showstopper In The Entire History Ever."
Designer Robert Naorem is from Manipur and often creates designs from his hometown. Global Indian Couture Week was held at Gurugram, Haryana.
