Miss Universe: Alejandra Marisa Rodríguez breaks stereotype, to participate in Miss Argentina at 60

60 year old Alejandra Marisa Rodríguez has broken stereotypes by being crowned as Miss Universe Buenos Aires and will compete for Miss Universe Argentina on May 25 this year. Rodríguez could participate only because the beauty pageant eliminated an age limit last year, that had been enforced since 1958.  

Earlier the age limit of this competition was 18 to 28 years, which has now been removed. The rules only state that the participants must be of legal age to participate.

Alejandra Marisa Rodríguez is a lawyer and journalist and was crowned Miss Buenos Aires! She's one of the fittest participants and looks much younger than her age. 

Miss Universe 2024

The upcoming Miss Universe pageant in 2024 marks the 73rd edition of the prestigious event. Notably, Mexico will host the competition for the first time since 2007. 

Miss Universe pageant is one of the most prestigious pageants globally, showcasing beauty, intelligence, and cultural diversity. The winner of Miss Universe becomes an ambassador for various causes and engages in philanthropic work throughout her reign.

Who all have been crowned Miss Universe from India?

India has produced three winners at the Miss Universe pageant till now. 

Sushmita Sen was crowned Miss Universe in 1994 who became the first Indian woman to win the title. Her victory was a significant moment in Indian pageant history.

Lara Dutta won the Miss Universe title in 2000. She brought pride to India with her win. 

Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu was crowned Miss Universe 2021.
