If you've faced pimples or breakouts, you might have searched for solutions online. However, it's important to be cautious as many of the tips you come across may not be scientifically proven.

Dermatologist Veenu Jindal recently debunked some common acne myths:

  • Acne isn't just a teenage issue; it can persist into your 30s, 40s, and 50s.
  • While lemon juice, garlic, and toothpaste are believed to dry out pimples, using them can harm your skin.
  • Scrubbing won't eliminate acne; in fact, it can exacerbate the condition.
  • Although skin dirt isn't directly linked to acne, it's advisable to keep your face clean as existing acne can be aggravated by it.
  • Squeezing or popping pimples may seem like a solution, but it can lead to infections and inflammation in your skin.
