Manicures may look all fancy and nice but they might also be followed by allergy and infection. It has been found by the British Association of Dermatologists that the chemicals used for manis like Methacrylate commonly found in acrylic gel nail paints might cause skin infection all over the body, make your nails brittle or might cause breathing trouble for some.

A 2018 study had also estimated that 2.4% of people suffer from allergies due to chemicals used in acrylic and gel-based manicure products.
So, experts advise avoiding acrylic and gel manicures and opting for chemical free nail paints and also avoid buying DIY manicure kits.
