As the mass layoffs and recession is going on, 2023 has begun on an eerie note for corporate workers. In 2022, we got to know about quiet quitting and quiet firing, among other work trends. However, now companies are picking up the smart move of 'Quiet Hiring' to beat the technique of 'Quiet Quitting' practised by employees.

What is Quiet Hiring?

As the term sounds, it is exactly the opposite of Quiet Quitting. In this, the higher authorities use a strategy to fill in gaps at the company without hiring new employees. All they do is ask the current employees to do extra work which is beyond their job description in the name of learning new skills.

The catch of quiet hiring is that it does not usually come with a promotion or pay increase right away but it might happen later.
