Legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam, who was hospitalized since August 5 after testing positive for the coronavirus, died on Friday at MGM Health Care hospital in Chennai, his son has said.
Popularly known as SPB, the veteran singer had recorded over 40,000 songs in 16 Indian languages and holds the Guinness World Record for recording the highest number of songs by a singer.
SPB is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.
