India's thumping win at the Lord's is now a thing of the past as Virat Kohli's men are on the mat in Leeds. England avenged their loss in the 2nd Test and are in command in Headingley as they ended Day 1 at 120/0, leading India by 42 runs. Kohli's decision to bat first backfired as none of the batters got going. Only 2 managed a double-digit score as England bowled out India for mere 78, their 3rd-lowest Test total against the 3 Lions. The visitors needed early wickets which they were denied to. In fact, they couldn't even manage a single one as English openers have put together an unbeaten 120-run stand. India need to quickly turn things around on Day 2 in order to stay alive in the game.
