A 15.81 carat Sakura diamond, is going under the hammer at a Christie's auction in Hong Kong. It is the largest ever pink-purple diamond to appear at an auction. Estimated between 25 million USD to 38 million USD, the rare 'fancy vivid purple pink internally flawless' diamond is the centre of attraction of the Magnificent Jewels Live Auction scheduled on the 23rd of May. According to the auction house, the diamond has a perfect blend of pink and purple, resembling the colour of cherry blossoms and appropriately coinciding with spring. It is a masterpiece due to its size, colour and optical transparency.
