The detained Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi has questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the horrific Lakhimpur incident that led to the death of 8 people including 4 farmers. Gandhi tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Twitter to show him a purported video of the brutal violence. Gandhi in her video asked if the PM had seen the video. The video which has now gone viral shows protesting farmers being run over by a SUV. Union Minister Ajay Mishra's son Ashish Mishra is the only person who has been named in the FIR, however, the minister has constantly denied the allegations levelled against him and his son. Varun Gandhi too condemned the incident and has appealed the UP government to make immediate arrests. He is the only BJP leader who has come out in support of the farmers.

Meanwhile, Chattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel who arrived in Lucknow on Tuesday was not allowed to leave the airport premises. Baghel who came to show solidarity, questioned the rationale of the decision and later sat on a dharna at the airport.
