The Indo-Tibetan Border Police welcomed 17 Belgian Malinois puppies into its combat canine squad.
The puppies will be trained for anti-terrorism roles and infantry patrol, the force stated. These dogs made headlines back in 2011 when they assisted the US Navy SEALs in an operation that killed Osama Bin Laden.
The mothers of the pups, which were born at the National Training Centre for Dogs in Panchkula's Bhanu area, are counter-insurgency grid veterans. Gala the father was deployed recently in Himachal Pradesh when PM Modi inaugurated the Atal Tunnel.
