An affiliate of the ISIS group, has claimed responsibility for the twin blasts at the Kabul Airport on Thursday that left over 70 Afghans and 13 American service members dead.
ISIS backed news agency Amaq News Agency said on its Telegram channel that "a member called Abdul Rahman al-Logari carried out “the martyrdom operation near Kabul Airport”
US Pentagon also confirmed that Islamic State in Khorasan, also known as ISIS-K, a local offshoot of the Iraq- and Syria-based terrorist group, were responsible for the attack.

The ISIL affiliate in Afghanistan, known as ISKP (ISIS-K), is opposed to Western nations as well as the Taliban.
ISIS-K have carried out a series of brutal attacks, mainly targeting Afghanistan’s Shia Muslim minority, including a 2020 assault on a maternity hospital in Kabul in which they killed women and infants.
