ISI chief holds meeting with intelligence heads of China, Russia over Afghanistan: reports

Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence director general General Faiz Hameed held a meeting with intelligence chiefs of  China, Russia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan on Saturday to discuss the situation in Afghanistan, according to multiple media reports. 

Reports said that the participants of the meeting exchanged views on the measures needed for lasting peace and stability in the region.

However, there has been no official confirmation regarding the meeting or the countries attending it.

The high-level meeting comes days after General Faiz Hameed’s return from Afghan capital Kabul, which he said he visited on the invitation of the Taliban.
