Rajasthan Royals’ consolidated effort help them in registering a convincing 7-wicket win against IPL-favorites Chennai Super Kings on Saturday evening in Abu Dhabi.

Chennai put to bat first, played phenomenally as the Yellow army set a huge 190 run target for the struggling Royals. Ruturaj Gaikwad not only gave a flying start to Chennai, but he also made sure to maintain the momentum throughout the match. The 24-year-old ended up scoring a brilliant unbeaten knock of 101 off 61 balls. In the first innings, from RR’s end, it was Tewatia who starred with a 3-wicket haul.

Despite Gaikwad’s monumental efforts, the Sanju Samson-led team paved their way to victory and how.

Rajasthan’s batting line-up impressed, as almost all players contributed in taking down the IPL table-leaders. Apart from Shivam Dube who was RR’s top-scorer with an unbeaten 64 off 42, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Samson and Evin Lewis too played their part as the team finished the game with 15 balls left to play.

While the win comes as a piece of good news for RR, it wouldn’t affect CSK much who have already qualified for this year’s play-offs.
