IOC Board approves Brisbane as 2032 Olympics host

Brisbane on Thursday won the approval of the International Olympic Committee for hosting the 2032 edition of the Olympics. The  final announcement for which will be made next month in Tokyo, after the Australian city wins the final vote.

IOC president Thomas Bach said that it is now in the hands of IOC members who will vote on July 21st. 

If Brisbane wins the hosting rights next month, which is being already expected, it will be the 3rd Australian city to host the quadrennial event. Melbourne hosted the 1956 Olympics and Sydney hosted the Summer Games in 2000.
