India follows a multi-disciplinary medical system. Along with modern medicine, Homeopathy, Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani, Yoga, Naturopathy are approved medicine fields. The system is not new or recently approved, though it surely has been given a push in recent days. There are medical colleges educating doctors of these Alternative Medicinal practices. There are Govt. approved hospitals and medical centres around Alternative Medicines. The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has recently called the AYUSH group of medical practices as Quackery. This opens up a series of confusion for common people - a) Should Indian citizens believe in Alternative Medicines at all? b) Should there be Homeopathy or Ayurveda institutes producing doctors if these practices are Quackery at the end of day?
