Prof. K C Janardhan, the calligraphy maestro speaks to THIP Media on how he conquered Epilepsy. It is estimated that there are around 50 million people living with epilepsy (PWE) globally. India carries an enormous burden of epilepsy. By conservative estimates, there are ten million people with epilepsy (PWE), three million with drug resistant epilepsy (DRE) and one million potential candidates for epilepsy surgery (ES) in India. Drug-resistant epilepsy (DRE) can be associated with developmental delay in infants and young children, and severe disability and morbidity in older children and adults, as well as a mortality rate of 5–10 times that of the general population.
