India records 1.65 lakh new infections in 24 hours, recovery rate at 91.5%

India on Sunday recorded 165,553 fresh cases of Covid-19, taking the country's cumulative tally past 27.8 million, according to the Union health ministry. 3,460 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours. A total of 3,25,972 people have died due to the disease. The country's death toll has been below 4,000 for the fourth straight day. The COVID-19 active caseload is 21,14,508 which now comprises 7.58 per cent of the total infections. The recovery rate is 91.25 per cent, govt data stated.
