For those who were scheduled to fly today from Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), there is a piece of news for you. The Mumbai airport operator released a statement in which they informed that the airport will remain shut for six hours on October 17, between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. due to maintenance work.
In the statement, it was mentioned that the two runways at the Mumbai airport will be undergoing post-monsoon maintenance work and there will be no flight operations for the duration of work.
This maintenance work is a scheduled yearly post-monsoon preventive maintenance plan. In this, the runways will be inspected for wear and tear that might have happened in the past six months.
Earlier, on May 2, the airport conducted its pre-monsoon maintenance and repair work on both the runways.
In the statement by CSMIA, it was mentioned that they are looking forward for the support from passengers.
