The occasion was the inauguration of a new facility of UK-based Joseph Cyril Bamford Excavators Ltd. Johnson also climbed onto an earthmoving machine, and waved for the cameras. The UK PM was accompanied by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.

Earlier in the day, Johnson had met Indian industrialist Gautam Adani. The meeting occurred at Adani Group's global headquarters at Shantigram on the outskirts of Ahmedabad city.

Key sectors such as energy transition, climate action, aerospace and defence collaboration were discussed by Johnson and Adani, as per PTI quoting sources.
