After witnessing bone-chilling cold in Chillai Kalan, the harshest 40-day period of the winter season, the much awaited snowfall of the season across the valley on January 13 brought joy and hope for a better season ahead. With fresh snowfall on Friday, Gulmarg's famous ski resort finally opened for tourists. According to MET department fresh snowfall and rains are expected in the higher reaches of the valley in the coming days. Meanwhile, air traffic to and fro Kashmir was suspended on Friday and flights for the rest of the day cancelled due to snowfall across the valley.
