Rahul Gandhi arranged a ‘chai sewa’ for devotees who queued up to visit the Kedarnath temple in Uttarakhand. The Congress leader was seen handing out cups of hot tea to the pilgrims, who expressed excitement to see him.
Devotees also requested to click pictures with the Wayanad MP, who then smiled for their cameras.
Gandhi is currently on a three-day visit to the northern state, which is also called ‘Dev Bhoomi’ or the land of gods. Social media posts from the Congress party showed Gandhi taking part in the sacred aarti at the Kedarnath temple on Sunday.
“Today, I visited Kedarnath Dham in Uttarakhand and had a darshan and worshipped. Har Har Mahadev,” Gandhi wrote in a social media post on Sunday. Gandhi earlier visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar and also undertook the ‘Kailash Yatra.’
The visit comes as five states - Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana and Mizoram - are set to go to polls.
