Watch: avalanches hit Gulmarg, locals come to rescue work, save lives

A daring rescue operation in Kashmir's hill station saved many trapped skiers on February 5.

Gulmarg witnessed two avalanches burying the skiers, mostly foreigners.  

Soon after the incident, the locals identified the spot of the incident and started rescue work. As per reports, all tourists were rescued to safety.

The incident reportedly took place at Apharwat Gandola phase 2.

Pertinently, J&K received moderate to heavy snowfall after a long dry spell.
