An elderly UP man rescued a 4-year-old girl after she came in contact with a live wire on a water-logged road. After bystanders failed to save the girl, the old man was seen extending a wooden stick to the girl.

The girl, who was lying face down, grabbed the stick after struggling to reach it. Police are now investigating the incident.

E-rickshaw drivers were seen getting out of their vehicle and rushing towards the girl. However, their efforts were hampered by electric shocks.

Varanasi law enforcement officials said the loose wire was attached to the main grid without permission. The electric wire has now been removed by electricity department officials, as per NDTV.
