Uttarkashi tunnel rescue: 41 workers flown to AIIMS Rishikesh

After undergoing medical check-up at Chinyalisaur Community Health Centre, the 41 workers rescued from the collapsed Uttarkashi tunnel were taken to AIIMS Rishikesh for further examination.

The were flown by Indian Air Force's transport aircraft Chinook.

The workers were said to be fine following the initial examination.

During their time in the tunnel, they were provided oxygen, food and water through pipes. After their evacuation, they were immediately transported to the local health centre in ambulances.

Of the 41 men, 15 are from Jharkhand, two from Uttarakhand, five from Bihar, three from West Bengal, eight from Uttar Pradesh, five from Odisha, two from Assam and one from Himachal Pradesh.
