Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami increases incentives, boosts support for Mangal Dals

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday engaged with representatives of Yuvak and Mahila Mangal Dals from across the state during the Mukhya Sevak Samvad held at the Chief Minister’s residence, Mukhya Sevak Sadan. 

During the event, he announced an increase in the incentive amount for Mangal Dals from Rs 4,000 to Rs 5,000. He also shared plans to formulate a policy aimed at making Mangal Dals self-reliant and providing them access to loan facilities. Furthermore, these groups will receive training under the Digital Mission.

Appreciating the contributions of Mangal Dals, the Chief Minister said, “Mangal Dals are playing an important role in taking forward the culture and traditions of Uttarakhand.” He added, “Mangal Dals play the role of ‘First Responder’ during disasters and are also at the forefront in public awareness campaigns.”

CM Dhami highlighted that the state government runs various schemes to empower Mangal Dals. “A financial assistance ranging from Rs. 50 thousand to Rs 3.5 lakh is being provided to the Mangal Dals for self-employment,” he noted. 

He further announced allocations including Rs 5 crores under the Chief Minister’s Yuva Mangal Dal Swavalamban Yojana, over Rs 2 crores under the Chief Minister’s Rural Sports and Health Promotion Scheme, and Rs 60 crores under the Chief Minister’s Self-Employment Scheme.

Additional funding details included Rs 10 crores for the Chief Minister’s Migration Prevention Scheme and more than Rs 21 crores under the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Rural Skill Scheme, which focuses on technical and vocational training for youth. The Chief Minister also emphasized the government’s continuous efforts to promote folk culture by providing financial support for local fairs and festivals.
