President Droupadi Murmu will be on a three-day visit to Dehradun from June 19 to 21, according to a statement issued by the Uttarakhand Chief Minister's Office (CMO).
The government and local administration are actively making preparations for her visit, with robust security arrangements being put in place.
During her stay, President Murmu will lay the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art public park on Rajpur Road.
“The President will lay the foundation stone of a state-of-the-art public park being developed on 132 acres of land on Rajpur Road in Dehradun. This park will be completed in one year and dedicated to the public,” the official statement said.
The CMO also announced that Rashtrapati Niketan, previously known as Rashtrapati Aashiyana, will be opened to the general public on June 24. The 24-acre property features a heritage building housing a collection of artefacts, along with attractions such as Lily Talab, Rokari Talab, and the Rose Garden.
Additionally, Rashtrapati Tapovan, which spans 19 acres, will also be dedicated to the public. “It has winding paths, wooden bridges, and quiet places for contemplation and meditation,” the statement noted.
The initiatives are part of efforts to enhance public access to green spaces and preserve heritage sites in the region.
