Amid the devastation caused by heavy rains and landslides in the Dharali area of Uttarkashi, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has remained on the ground for the past three days, closely monitoring relief and rescue efforts, the Chief Minister's Office said.

Demonstrating hands-on leadership during the crisis, CM Dhami has been actively coordinating with rescue agencies while ensuring the state's development agenda remains on track.

"For the last three days, CM Dhami has been present in Uttarkashi, from where he is monitoring the disaster relief work every moment, as well as ensuring that the development work of the state is not hindered; development works are being speeded up by setting up camp offices here," the statement said.

In this sequence, he chaired the meeting of the State Cabinet from Uttarkashi itself. It was described as unprecedented that several key development decisions were taken directly from the disaster-affected area, sending a message that the pace of development must continue even in times of crisis.

The Chief Minister also held a high-level review meeting with the DG of ITBP, DG of NDRF and the DGP of Uttarakhand Police. The progress of rescue operations, ground-level challenges and ways to strengthen mutual coordination were discussed in detail.

Dhami instructed officials to ensure quick access to affected areas, prompt evacuation of stranded people, adequate deployment of relief teams in inaccessible zones, and the acceleration of helicopter-based rescue operations. Timely availability of essential resources was also stressed.

Special emphasis was placed on rapid restoration of communication, electricity, road connectivity, and an uninterrupted supply of relief material. The Chief Minister directed that no delay should occur in delivering assistance to any affected individual and asked the administrative machinery to act with full sensitivity.

By staying continuously in Dharali and surrounding regions, Dhami has sought to instill confidence in people that the government stands with them during crises. His active and empathetic approach has not only given strength to the affected families but also boosted the morale of the personnel engaged in rescue and relief work.

By working directly from the disaster-hit zone and simultaneously making firm decisions for the state’s development, CM Dhami has reiterated his commitment to remain alongside every citizen during difficult times.
