Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the rail network in the state is expanding continuously.

According to a release from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the field survey for the 170 km Tanakpur–Bageshwar railway line has been completed and the detailed project report (DPR) has been prepared.

Expressing his gratitude to Prime Minister Modi and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Dhami said the railway line is of strategic importance as the region lies along the border. He added that the project will not only boost tourism in Uttarakhand but also give fresh impetus to the overall development of the area.

Rs 5315 crore supplementary budget presented

A day earlier, the Chief Minister presented the supplementary budget of Rs 5315 crore during the assembly session at Bhararisain (Gairsain).

Speaking about the budget, Dhami said it had been prepared while imbibing the mantra of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas".

He stressed that the budget is not merely a document of figures, but a reflection of the state’s commitment towards sustainable and inclusive development, innovation, and economic strength.

Dhami further said the focus is on investment in human capital and the inclusive growth of every section of society. The budget, he added, has been prepared with the welfare of all in mind, including farmers, workers, the poor, women, youth, and security forces.
