Union Rural Development and Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has informed Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami that the Central Government will extend additional financial support to Uttarakhand for the implementation of the Digital India Land Records Modernisation Program (DILRMP).

The announcement came via an official letter sent by Chouhan, according to a press release issued by the Chief Minister's Office.

The Union Minister appreciated Uttarakhand's active participation in the Centre’s efforts to bring positive changes to rural India. "Under the able leadership of Chief Minister Dhami, Uttarakhand will set new records in the implementation of DILRMP in the state," Chouhan stated.

Earlier, Chief Minister Dhami had written to Chouhan, requesting special assistance of ₹478.50 crore under the Central Sectoral Scheme of the Ministry of Rural Development. The request included ₹350 crore for a comprehensive land survey/resurvey using modern technology such as LiDAR, as well as funds for the construction of modern record rooms at the tehsil level.

In his reply, the Union Minister conveyed that Uttarakhand will receive full support for pilot testing of surveys in five villages using existing DILRMP funds. Based on the outcomes of these pilot projects, the Centre will consider providing further funds for state-wide implementation in rural areas. Chouhan also assured that the pending funds for constructing tehsil-level record rooms will be released soon.

Additionally, the Union Minister noted that the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare is actively considering Uttarakhand’s request for financial assistance under the Agri Stack program, and he is personally monitoring the matter.

Chief Minister Dhami reaffirmed the state’s commitment to timely digitisation of land records alongside strong land law reforms. “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state of Uttarakhand is working with commitment to play a leading role in the nationwide campaign to develop a modern and transparent land management system in line with the vision of Digital India,” he said.

“The cooperation and support being provided by the Central Government in this direction will give more impetus to our efforts, for which the state government is grateful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan,” CM Dhami added.
