Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath chaired a cabinet meeting at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj on Wednesday, where he approved a series of important proposals and schemes for the state's development.
Following the meeting, CM Yogi announced the establishment of three new medical colleges in Hathras, Kasganj, and Baghpat. In addition, the state will see the creation of 62 Industrial Training Institutes and 5 centers focused on innovation, invention, and training.
A key decision made during the meeting was the renewal of the Uttar Pradesh Aerospace and Defence and employment policy. CM Yogi highlighted that the policy has completed five years and will be revamped with new incentives to encourage further investment in the state.
"Uttar Pradesh Aerospace and Defence and employment policy has completed 5 years. It will be renewed. New incentives have been announced to attract more investment," he said.
In another significant move, CM Yogi announced the issuance of municipal corporation bonds for the cities of Prayagraj, Varanasi, and Agra.
"And bonds will be issued in these three important municipal corporations of Prayagraj, Varanasi and Agra. Till now we have issued bonds for Lucknow and Ghaziabad. Very good results have come out of this. This is an important medium for branding the municipal corporation and for its development and a new vision," CM Yogi stated.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister introduced the Prayagraj-Chitrakoot development region, which will be modeled after the State Capital Region of Lucknow.
"Keeping today's Maha Kumbh in mind, and taking action to link Prayagraj as well as this entire region with a sustainable development program, with the inspiration of Honorable Prime Minister, the government has decided to take it forward. As per the vision of Honorable Prime Minister, like in Lucknow, we have made a development plan by combining State Capital Region Lucknow and the districts around it, similarly, we will develop a development region here by combining Prayagraj and Chitrakoot," CM Yogi explained.
He also announced plans to create a development region in Varanasi in collaboration with Niti Aayog.
Additionally, CM Yogi emphasized the importance of the Ganga Expressway, which will stretch from Prayagraj to Mirzapur, Bhadohi, Kashi, Chandauli, and connect to the Purvanchal Expressway in Ghazipur. "This (Ganga) Expressway will connect Sonbhadra to the National Highway," he added.
Following the meet, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, accompanied by Deputy CMs Keshav Prasad Maurya, Brajesh Pathak, and other cabinet ministers, took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam.
