BJP leader Smriti Irani thanked the people of Amethi for letting her serve the constituency for the past 5 years, as she conceded defeat against Congress nominee Kishori Lal Sharma.
"I thank all the BJP workers and supporters who gave their all in serving the party. I had the opportunity to fulfill all the demands of the constituency that were pending for 30 years. Today, I express my gratitude to Narendra Modi and Yogi Adityanath who, within a short span of 5 years, completed all the works that were pending for 30 years. I congratulate the winner. And I hope that like us, who went door to door to serve the people, they also do the same," she said in a press conference.
