A 38-year-old auto driver was detained and questioned in connection with the rape of a minor in Madhya Pradesh's Ujjain.
SP Sachin Sharma said that after the incident of a 12-year-old rape survivor walking on the street asking for help came to light, the police gathered all the CCTV footage and based on that interrogated the auto driver Rakesh.
Sharma said that blood stains were found in Rakesh's auto. He added that the auto driver told the police that he was with the 12-year-old on the day of the incident.
'An auto driver was detained and questioned by the police. We found blood stains on the backseat of the auto. During questioning, he told us that he was with the child on the day and time of the incident,' he said.
According to the police, the girl hails from Satna in Madhya Pradesh and a missing complaint for her was filed on September 24. The girl was raped on September 25.
A video of the girl, half-naked and bleeding, asking for help emerged on September 27. According to reports, no one came forward to help her.
Eventually, a priest who found the girl outside his ashram helped her and called the police.
