Turkey-Syria earthquake: India sends 100 NDRF rescuers, dog squads, drilling tech, relief material

With more than 3,800 people dead due to the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria, the Indian government dispatched the National Disaster Response Force to help with search and rescue operations.

Two teams with more than 100 personnel were dispatched on 6 February 2023 to the crisis-hit region. NDRF officers said that the teams sent were the 8th battalion at Ghaziabad and the 2nd battalion at Kolkata.

Highly-skilled dog squads, an array of medical supplies, advanced drilling equipment, and other crucial tools were sent along with the teams.
