Hours after the Centre announced a panel to examine the possibility of One Nation, One Election, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan, who is a part of the 8-member committee, has written a letter to HM Amit Shah declining the invitation to be part of the panel.

"I have no hesitation whatsoever in declining to serve on the Committee whose terms of reference have been prepared in a manner to guarantee its conclusions. It is, I am afraid, a total eyewash," he said in a letter.

In the letter, Chowdhary has also pointed out Rajya Sabha LoP, Kharge not being part of the panel.

He further indicated, if Kharge is not included he will not join the committee.
