A Nagpur couple allegedly trapped and tortured a 12-year-old girl they had hired as domestic help. The couple reportedly used hot pans and cigarettes to punish mistakes.
The crime was uncovered after the neighbours found the child locked inside the house while the couple were in Bengaluru. She was seen shouting through the window for help.
Police said the girl was sent for a thorough medical examination, which revealed burn marks and signs of torture.
As per India Today reports, the couple falsely promised the 12-year-old girl’s parents that they would pay for her education after bringing her to Nagpur. The girl was brought from Bengaluru nearly three years ago.

The couple has been arrested.
