Tamil Nadu police search ED office in Madurai after arresting officer in bribery case

Tamil Nadu Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption continued searches at the ED sub-zonal office in Madurai on Saturday in connection with the case involving ED officer Ankit Tiwari who was arrested a day before for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 20 lakh from a doctor.

The arrested ED official has been sent to judicial custody till December 15, NDTV said.

The arrest comes as the Tamil Nadu government and the Enforcement Directorate face-off in the Madras High Court over the latter's summons to five district collectors.
