Amid a tense situation in Punjab as police hunted for pro-Khalistan preacher Amritpal Singh, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on 21 March 2023 spoke on the developments.

The Aam Aadmi Party leader said, "In recent days, some elements backed by foreign powers were talking about ruining the atmosphere in Punjab. They were giving hateful speeches. They were speaking against the rule of law."

"Action has been taken against them. All of them have been caught," he added.

Calling the Aam Aadmi Party a patriotic party, he said, "We will not spare any anti-national force festering in Punjab."
