'Stop Bharat Jodo Yatra if...': Modi govt's directive for Rahul Gandhi, Congress amid fresh Covid concern

Amid rising concerns of possibly another Covid wave, the Union government has written to the Congress party to enforce Covid rules during the ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya wrote to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. He said that if it is not possible to enforce Covid guidelines, then the march should be suspended keeping in mind the "public health emergency".

The minister said that only vaccinated persons should be part of the Yatra, and masks and sanitisers should be used.
