After staying the demolition of houses, shops and other structures in Delhi's riots-hit Jahangirpuri area on Wednesday, the SC on Thursday will take up the plea against the civic officials' action.
The Supreme Court had to intervene twice to stop the drive after it took cognisance of a petition filed by Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind against the demolition.
The demolition is reported to have gone on for more than one and a half hours after the stay order forcing the top court to intervene again.

Facing criticism over the timing of the demolition drive, North Delhi Municipal Corporation said that it was a 'routine exercise'.
Jahangirpuri in north Delhi had witnessed violent clashes, including stone-pelting, arson, and firing, between two communities during a Hanuman Jayanti procession on Saturday.
